Plans change. If an applicant already has an in-person screening, interview, or orientation booked in Augusta, you can update the meeting address before the meeting takes place.
Once the address is changed, Augusta will notify the applicant by email and text and use the updated location in upcoming meeting reminders.
While this feature gives your team flexibility when plans unexpectedly change, we recommend using it as a backup—not as part of your normal recruiting workflow.
When Should I Change a Meeting Location?
You may need to update an address if:
- You're recruiting across multiple offices or locations
- The original meeting location unexpectedly becomes unavailable
- Your interviewer can no longer accommodate the applicant at the original location
- An unexpected operational change requires the meeting to take place somewhere else
Whenever possible, applicants should be booked at the location where you actually expect to meet them.
Frequently changing locations after candidates have already booked can create confusion, longer commutes, scheduling conflicts, and ultimately more no-shows.
How to Change an In-Person Meeting Location
- Log in to your Augusta Dashboard.
- Go to the Interviews tab.
-
Open the Upcoming sub-tab to view your upcoming meetings.
- Find the screening, interview, or orientation you need to update.
-
Under the meeting's Location, click Change.
- Enter the new, complete address.
-
Save your changes.
That's it! Augusta will update the meeting location and notify the applicant by email and text.
Any upcoming automated meeting reminders will also reflect the new address.
Note: Meeting addresses can only be changed for in-person meetings. Phone and virtual meetings do not have a physical meeting address to update.
Always Follow Up With the Applicant
Even though Augusta automatically communicates the updated address, we strongly recommend personally contacting the applicant whenever you change their meeting location.
Remember: the applicant planned their day around the location they originally selected.
A different address could affect their:
- Commute time
- Transportation
- Work or personal schedule
- Ability to attend the meeting at the originally scheduled time
The closer you are to the meeting, the more important direct communication becomes.
Call the applicant, explain the change, confirm that the new location still works for them, and give them the opportunity to reschedule if needed.
The earlier you can communicate a necessary location change, the better the candidate experience.
If You're Changing Locations Frequently...
The ability to change an address is intended as a backup for unexpected changes, not a substitute for a sustainable recruiting schedule.
If you're regularly changing meeting locations after applicants book, consider whether your team's meeting setup needs to be adjusted.
You may want to:
- Update your meeting availability so applicants only book times and locations you can reliably accommodate
- Have another interviewer step in when you're unavailable
- Reassign an existing meeting to another interviewer who can meet the applicant at the original location
Whenever possible, solving the scheduling conflict internally is better than creating a last-minute change for the applicant.
