When your agency has multiple recruiters conducting screenings, interviews, or orientations, Augusta gives you several ways to distribute meetings across your team.
One option is to designate a Priority Interviewer.
A Priority Interviewer receives meeting bookings before Augusta begins distributing meetings across the rest of your interview team. This helps you maximize your primary recruiter's availability while still allowing other team members to step in when additional capacity is needed.
Note: Priority Interviewers are available for agencies using multiple interviewers within the same hiring stage.
When Should You Use a Priority Interviewer?
A Priority Interviewer is a great fit when:
- One recruiter is responsible for the majority of your hiring.
- Another recruiter serves as backup during busy hiring periods.
- A manager or HR team member only helps when additional interview capacity is needed.
- You want one recruiter to own the applicant experience while still giving your team flexibility to support hiring goals.
For example:
- Primary Recruiter: Conducts interviews every day.
- HR Manager: Only helps once the recruiter's schedule is full.
In this scenario, Augusta will continue filling the primary recruiter's calendar first before distributing meetings to the rest of your interview team.
How to Assign a Priority Interviewer
Step 1: Open Profile → Manage Users.
Step 2: Locate the Priority Interviewer setting.
Step 3: Select the interviewer you would like Augusta to prioritize.
If you'd prefer all interviewers to receive meetings evenly, simply leave the setting as:
No Priority (Equal Distribution)
How This Works with Round Robin
Priority Interviewers work alongside Round Robin Scheduling.
The scheduling order looks like this:
- Augusta attempts to book meetings with the Priority Interviewer first.
- Once that interviewer is unavailable, Augusta automatically distributes meetings across the remaining interviewers assigned to that hiring stage using Round Robin.
This gives your agency the consistency of having one primary recruiter while still allowing your team to scale during periods of higher hiring demand.
Related Features
Augusta provides several ways to manage interview assignments:
- Round Robin Scheduling — Automatically distribute meetings across multiple interviewers.
- Skip Round Robin Assignment — Keep an interviewer available for manual support without automatically assigning them meetings.
- Reassign Interviews — Transfer an already-booked meeting to another interviewer when schedules change.
Together, these features help your team maximize candidate conversations while maintaining the flexibility to adjust as hiring needs change.
