Sometimes the hardest part of recruiting isn’t finding the right fit — it’s letting candidates know they’re not moving forward.
Augusta can automatically send professional disqualification emails on your behalf, so your team doesn’t have to.
Why This Feature Is Not Enabled by Default
This feature is opt-in.
Many agencies already send rejection messages through other systems or internal workflows. To avoid candidates receiving duplicate messages, we leave this feature off by default.
If you choose to enable this:
- Make sure any existing rejection messaging in other systems is turned off
- This ensures candidates only receive one clear message

How It Works
Once enabled, Augusta will automatically send a disqualification email when a candidate is marked as:
- Not Qualified
- Rejected
- Fired
Timing
- Manual status changes: Email is sent 48 hours after the status is updated
- Automatically disqualified applicants: Email is sent after 5 days
This delay allows time in case:
- A status was selected by mistake
- You decide to move the candidate forward instead
Additional Behavior
If a candidate was previously moved forward (for example, from disqualified to qualified) and later marked as rejected:
- Augusta will send a new disqualification email
- This is sent 48 hours after the final status change
This ensures candidates receive proper communication even if their status changes during your hiring process.
Default Disqualification Message
"Hi <Applicant Name>,
Thank you for applying for a caregiver position with <Legal Agency Name>, which operates the <Franchise/Agency Name>. We appreciated the opportunity to learn more about you; however, we have decided to pursue other candidates whose qualifications more closely match our needs.
Thank you for your interest in <Franchise/Agency Name>. Best of luck to you.
