How to Connect Your Indeed Employer Account
Before accessing your Indeed Performance report, you'll need to connect your agency's Indeed Employer Account to Augusta.
Important: You must have Admin access to your Indeed Employer Account to complete the connection. If you're not an Admin, you won't be able to authorize the required permissions, and the connection will fail.
To connect your account:
- Log in to your Augusta Dashboard.
- Navigate to Smart Posts → Indeed Settings.
-
Select Log in with Indeed and sign in using an account with Admin permissions for your agency's Indeed Employer Account.
-
Review the requested permissions, allow all permissions, and click Continue.
-
Select Confirm account to complete the connection.
Once connected, Augusta can retrieve available Indeed advertising spend and job performance data to help you understand your recruiting investment and calculate cost per hire.
Having trouble connecting? If you receive a failed connection alert, confirm that your Indeed user has Admin access to the employer account you're connecting. If not, ask your Indeed account administrator to complete the connection or update your permissions.

How to Access Your Indeed Performance Report
Once your Indeed Employer Account is connected:
- Navigate to Smart Posts in your Augusta Dashboard.
- Select the Indeed Performance tab.
- Choose the month you want to review.
Your report displays Indeed advertising spend alongside the applications and hires attributed to Indeed for the selected month.
Understanding Your Indeed Performance Metrics
At the top of your report, you'll find four key metrics:
| Metric | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Spend | The amount spent on Indeed advertising for the selected month, based on available Indeed data. |
| Applications | The number of applications attributed to Indeed during the selected month. |
| Hires | The number of applicants from that month's Indeed applications who were marked as Hired in Augusta. |
| Cost Per Hire | Your Indeed advertising spend divided by the number of hires generated from those applications. |
Example: If your agency spent $1,500 on Indeed advertising and hired 3 applicants who applied that month, your cost per hire would be $500.
This helps you understand how effectively your advertising investment is translating into actual hires.
Reviewing Performance by Job
Below your overall performance metrics, you'll see a breakdown of your Indeed job postings.
For each job, Augusta displays:
- Job: The job posting associated with your Indeed applicants.
- Spend: The amount spent advertising that job.
- Applications: The number of applicants who applied through that job.
- Hires: The number of applicants from that job who were hired.
- Cost Per Hire: The advertising spend divided by the number of hires for that job.
This allows you to compare performance across different job postings and identify which are generating the strongest hiring results.
What Does "No Matching Job" Mean?
You may notice a row labeled No matching job.
This means Augusta identified applicants who came from Indeed but couldn't determine which specific job posting they applied through.
These applicants and their hiring outcomes are still included in your overall Indeed totals, but they cannot be attributed to an individual job.
Understanding Missing or Incomplete Data
Depending on your Indeed connection, available spend data, and selected reporting month, some metrics may not be displayed.
Why Is My Cost Per Hire Unavailable?
Your overall cost per hire may be unavailable if Augusta doesn't have complete advertising spend information for the selected month.
For example, if some applicants are associated with Indeed jobs for which spend data is unavailable, Augusta may display Spend (Partial) rather than calculate an incomplete overall cost per hire.
You can still review available job-level results.
Note: An unavailable cost per hire doesn't necessarily mean your Indeed advertising produced no hires. It may simply mean Augusta doesn't have enough spend information to calculate an accurate result.
What Does "Month Is Settled" Mean?
Hiring doesn't always happen immediately after someone applies.
An applicant who applies in August might not be hired until September or October.
To account for this, Augusta allows time for applicants from a reporting month to progress through the hiring process before treating that month's hiring results as settled.
This helps provide a more meaningful cost-per-hire calculation rather than relying on hiring outcomes that are still developing.
For months that haven't settled, some information may be available while the final cost per hire remains unavailable.
Why Is Some Historical Spend Missing?
Indeed spend data may not be available for every historical month, particularly if Augusta has only recently started collecting spend information for your account.
Your report will display the information currently available.
How to Improve Your Reporting Accuracy
To get the most value from your Indeed Performance report:
- Keep applicant hiring statuses updated: Mark applicants as Hired when they're hired so your report accurately reflects your recruiting outcomes. If you use a supported hiring integration, some hiring outcomes may be synchronized automatically.
- Use your Augusta Smart Posts and application links: Proper applicant source and job attribution help Augusta connect applicants and hires to the correct recruiting channels.
- Review your performance regularly: Compare monthly results and job-level hiring outcomes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Tip: Cost per hire is one piece of your recruiting performance. Consider it alongside applicant quality, interview attendance, hiring needs, and employee retention when evaluating your recruiting strategy.
