It’s a common (and understandable) concern:
You notice a slower day or two for applicants
You search for your job on Indeed as a caregiver would
You don’t see it in search results
You start to worry that something is broken
The good news: this usually does not mean your job is broken, offline, or not working.
In most cases, your job is live and performing as expected.
Let’s walk through why this happens — and how to check your job the right way.
Why does this happen (even when your job is live)
Indeed job visibility works differently than many people expect.
Even when a job is:
Live
Open
Sponsored
Connected correctly through Augusta
…it may not always appear in search results, especially when you’re searching for your own job.
Here’s why:
Indeed’s search results are dynamic and influenced by many factors, including:
Job freshness and age
Market demand and competition
Seasonal traffic changes
Budget pacing
Individual job seeker behavior
Important:
When someone repeatedly searches for their own job and doesn’t click into it, Indeed may intentionally stop showing that job to that user. This helps improve the job seeker experience — but it makes self-searching unreliable as a visibility test.
➡️ In short: not seeing your job in search does not mean caregivers aren’t seeing it.
A note on applicant volume (this is normal)
Applicant flow is rarely the same every single day.
It’s very common to see:
A slower day or two
Followed by stronger applicant days
That averages out over the week or month
When we review accounts that raise this concern, overall monthly applicant volume is usually steady and healthy.
This is why we recommend looking at trends over time — not single days.
The best way to view your job on Indeed (without searching)
Instead of searching like an applicant, use this method to confirm your job is live:
Step-by-step:
Log in to your Indeed Employer Account
Go to the Jobs tab
Find your Augusta Smart Post / Indeed job
Click the three dots (⋮) on the right side of the job
Select “View public job page.”
This opens the exact job page caregivers see, without relying on search results.
If you can view the public job page, your job is live.
What do different job statuses mean
While you’re in your Indeed employer account, here’s how to interpret what you see:
✅ Job is visible and open
Everything is working as expected
Search visibility may fluctuate — this is normal
⚠️ Job is flagged
This usually means an Indeed posting policy was triggered
Common policy issues include things like misleading titles, pay issues, or restricted language
You can review common policies here: Indeed Job Posting Policies – What You Need to Know
If your job is flagged, we’re happy to help review it.
⛔ Job is closed
Someone on your team may have closed it
Or it reached its end date based on your sponsorship or campaign settings
Closed jobs will not appear to caregivers. Simply create a new Augusta Smart Post / Indeed Job posting that is aligned with your current hiring needs.
❓ Job not showing at all
This may indicate a connection or sync issue
This is when you should reach out to Augusta so we can verify your Indeed connection and Smart Posts feed
What we don’t recommend doing
You may be tempted to close and recreate jobs to “refresh” them.
While this can sometimes appear to help in the short term, Indeed does not recommend frequent job reposting, and it can:
Conflict with reposting policies
Trigger Trust & Safety reviews
Reduce long-term visibility
In most cases, the best approach is to leave jobs active and allow performance to stabilize.
When to reach out to Augusta Support
Please contact us if:
Your job is flagged
Your job is closed, and you didn’t intend it to be
Your job is not visible at all in your Indeed employer account
You want help reviewing competitiveness (market demand, sponsorship, etc.)
If you’re simply not seeing your job when searching as an applicant — and your job is live in your employer account — everything is likely working as intended.
Final reassurance 💙
We know it’s stressful when applicant flow feels unpredictable.
Fluctuations are normal, and not seeing your own job in search is very common — even when jobs are performing well.
If you’re ever unsure, we’re here to help you look deeper and make sure everything is set up for success.
