Indeed Is Prioritizing Quality Over Quantity
One of the biggest changes we've seen is that Indeed continues to prioritize higher-quality recruiting experiences over simply generating more applicant volume.
This means employers who provide:
- Clear job titles
- High-quality job descriptions
- Accurate job information
- A trustworthy application experience
are generally better positioned than employers relying on outdated recruiting tactics.
Many Augusta customers are seeing fewer total applicants than several years ago—but are still maintaining strong hiring results because applicant quality has improved.
Four Indeed Policies Every Employer Should Know
1. Single-Source Feed Policy
Indeed is reducing duplicate job postings by encouraging employers to publish jobs from a single trusted source.
This helps:
- Reduce duplicate jobs
- Improve candidate trust
- Improve search quality

2. Use Clear, Searchable Job Titles
Job titles remain one of Indeed's strongest ranking signals.
Good examples:
- Caregiver
- CNA
- Home Health Aide
Avoid:
- Hiring Now!!!
- Rockstar Caregiver
- Earn Big Money!

3. Avoid Duplicate Job Posts
Rather than continually reposting the same jobs, Indeed encourages employers to:
- Maintain existing jobs
- Refresh job descriptions
- Remove duplicate postings
- Keep information accurate

4. Use Inclusive Recruiting Practices
Job postings should avoid language that could discourage or exclude protected groups.
Use inclusive, neutral language throughout your recruiting process.

Verify Your Employer Account
Employer verification helps Indeed confirm that your business is legitimate and can improve trust with job seekers.
If your business has not completed verification—or Indeed requests updated verification—we recommend completing it promptly.

Understand Free Job Posting Changes
Indeed recently updated its Free Job Post Policy for employers posting jobs directly on Indeed.
For employers in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and several other countries:
- Jobs posted directly on Indeed are limited to 3 free job postings per calendar month.
- Each free job remains visible for up to 30 days unless sponsored.
However, according to Indeed's policy, these limits do not apply to jobs published through approved ATS integrations, such as Augusta's Indeed integration.
This allows Augusta customers to continue publishing Smart Posts to Indeed without being subject to Indeed's monthly free job posting limit for direct postings.
Important: While Augusta helps publish your jobs through Indeed's ATS integration, we still recommend sponsoring your most important jobs whenever possible. Sponsored jobs typically receive significantly greater visibility and applicant volume than free postings.
