What Is a Meta Pixel?
A Meta Pixel is a tracking tool used by Facebook and Instagram to understand what happens after someone interacts with your advertisements.
When connected to your Augusta application, Meta receives information about candidate activity, helping you measure advertising performance and optimize campaigns to reach more potential applicants.
Over time, this information can help Meta better understand which advertisements are generating completed applications.
How Augusta Uses Your Meta Pixel
Once your Meta Pixel is connected, Augusta automatically sends two events to Meta as candidates interact with your application:
| Event | When It's Sent |
|---|---|
| PageView | When someone opens your Augusta job application. |
| Lead | When someone finishes applying through your Augusta application. |
These events help your Meta Ads account:
- Measure how many people visit your application and complete it.
- Understand which Facebook and Instagram ads are generating applicant conversions.
- Optimize advertising campaigns based on completed applications.
Your recruiting team will continue managing applicants inside Augusta, with no changes to your existing hiring workflow.
Important: Augusta does not create or manage your Facebook or Instagram advertising campaigns. Connecting your Meta Pixel allows your advertising platform to receive application activity from Augusta.
Tracking Facebook Applicants Inside Augusta
While Meta Pixel helps measure advertising performance within Meta, Augusta's Channel Sourcing (Track Where You Came From) feature allows you to track which Facebook advertisements are generating applicants directly in your Augusta Dashboard.
We recommend using both tools together:
- Meta Pixel: Track application visits and completed applications within Meta Ads.
- Augusta Channel Sourcing: Identify which Facebook advertisements applicants came from and review their progress through your recruiting process.
Create or Find Your Meta Pixel
If you work with a marketing agency or advertising partner, they may already have a Meta Pixel for your recruiting campaigns. Simply ask them for your Meta Pixel ID and proceed to the setup instructions below.
If you manage your own Facebook and Instagram advertising, you can create a new Meta Pixel or use an existing one.
Option 1: Create a New Meta Pixel
- Sign in to Meta Business Manager.
- Open Events Manager.
- Select Connect Data Sources (or + Add Data Source, depending on your account).
- Select Web as your data source.
- Follow Meta's instructions to create a new Pixel/Dataset.
- Give it a descriptive name, such as ABC Home Care Recruiting.
Once created, your Meta Pixel will appear under Events Manager → Data Sources.
Best Practice: Consider using a Meta Pixel dedicated to recruiting to keep your caregiver advertising data separate from other marketing campaigns.
Option 2: Find an Existing Meta Pixel
- Sign in to Meta Business Manager.
- Open Events Manager.
- Select Data Sources.
- Choose the Meta Pixel you want to use.
- Copy your Meta Pixel ID (Dataset ID).
This is the ID you'll enter into Augusta.

- Review your Meta Ads reporting: Monitor application visits and completed applications to evaluate campaign performance.
- Coordinate with your marketing agency: Let your agency know when your Meta Pixel is connected so they can review the events and optimize your campaigns.
- Additional integrations: If you'd like to send applicant or hiring data to other marketing platforms, Augusta also supports integrations through Zapier.
